New meat processing pant opened in collaboration with ACDI/VOCA CAIP

Elena Farm Society opening ceremonyIn January of 2004 ACDI/VOCA CAIP Project approached EDP in Osh with a request to assist in locating suppliers of meat processing equipment from Russia for a new processing facility. EDP Osh provided ACDI/VOCA CAIP Project with company information and equipment description of eight suppliers of meat processing equipment located in Russia.
Based on the results of the equipment tender announced by ACDI/VOCA CAIP Project, Pil'ninskiy Optomechanical Factory from Nizhniy Novgorod, Russia, was selected as a supplier of meat processing equipment.
In July 2004 ACDI/VOCA CAIP authorized the purchase of meat processing equipment for Elena farm society in Kyzyl-Kiya, in Kyrgyzstan's Batken oblast, under the ACDI/VOCA CAIP Project grant program for local enterprises. The dollar value of the contract was $10,825.
The equipment was imported into Kyrgyzstan, installed, and the first batches of meat products were produced, and in November, Elena Farm Society held the official opening ceremony of their new meat processing facility to share their success and to present a wide assortment of quality meat products offered to consumers in Southern Kyrgyzstan.
