July 2005 EDP client achieves amazing sales growth through partnership with EDP Regional Trade Program
Savdo Web is a recently formed trading company based in Tajikistan's Sogd Oblast. Savdo Web's Director Zebonisso Solieva wanted to be the first company in Tajikistan to use the Internet as a primary tool in developing trade.
Zebonisso began working with EDP Senior Relationship Manager Kosimbek Abdurahimov to identify strategies for success in this new venture. During their SAP development in January 2005, Kosimbek helped Savdo Web identify strategic issues such as low Internet usage by Tajik businesses and a lack of strategic partners in other countries. Because Savdo Web provided a similar service to EDP's Regional Trade Program (RTP), Kosimbek suggested that they become a strategic partner in EDP's Regional Trade Network.
Now Savdo Web effectively utilizes both its own site and the RTP trade site www.smetradecenter.net Savdo Web has since embraced EDP services, while streamlining its business to meet the needs of the growing import market in Khujand. They have also hired a representative in China who has increased Tajikistan's access to equipment and raw materials. During the first three months of cooperation with EDP, Savdo Web has facilitated 29 trade deals worth nearly $100K. This has been a major contribution to its sales skyrocketing from roughly $1000/month to over $10,000/month. Savdo Web is continuing to grow and is poised to play an integral role in the sustainability EDP's Regional Trade Network in Central Asia.
